Kathmandu, 26 February (HS): Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has visited Lord Pashupatinath for the first time on the occasion of Mahashivratri. He performed special prayers after visiting the temple with his wife Radhika Shakya at midnight. Oli stayed there for about 45 minutes.

Strict security arrangements were made in view of the Prime Minister's arrival. Oli also reviewed the arrangements made for the visitors. Apart from Tourism and Culture Minister Badri Pandey, all the officials of Pashupati Area Development Fund were present on this occasion.

Tourism Minister Pandey said that Oli also took stock of all the arrangements by walking around the temple premises. Earlier, Prime Minister Oli had visited Pashupatinath temple only once in his second term. He had offered a gold Jalhari. Oli has become the first communist Prime Minister to visit Pashupatinath on Mahashivratri. Oli has become Prime Minister for the third time.
