Ahiritola Murder Case: Ex-Husband of Victim in Shock Over Brutal Incident

Kolkata, 26 February (H.S.) – The gruesome murder case in Ahiritola has sent shockwaves across Kolkata. As details of the horrific incident surfaced, a sense of mourning also descended upon Nadanghat in East Burdwan, where the deceased, Sumita Ghosh, once lived after her marriage. Her ex-husband, Sudipta Ghosh, is devastated upon hearing the news, struggling to come to terms with the brutal fate of his former wife.

Sudipta Ghosh, a resident of Nadanghat, was married to Sumita Ghosh in 2004. Initially, their relationship was smooth, but conflicts arose over time. Due to work commitments, Sudipta was often away, and Sumita rarely stayed at her in-laws' house. Despite the physical distance, marital discord persisted, eventually leading to their divorce between 2017 and 2018. Since then, the two had lived separate lives with little to no contact.

However, the shocking news of Sumita’s brutal murder has left Sudipta in deep distress. When reached for comments, he expressed his grief, saying, “We were divorced, but hearing such news is still heartbreaking.” He refrained from discussing the reasons behind their separation.

The entire village of Nadanghat remains in a state of disbelief. Neighbors and relatives struggle to comprehend how such a horrific fate befell Sumita. The case gained widespread attention after her dismembered body was discovered in a suitcase in Ahiritola on Tuesday morning, adding to the city's growing concerns over violent crimes.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are working to piece together the details behind this gruesome crime. The incident has left both Kolkata and Sumita’s native village in shock, with many demanding justice for the victim.
