Amravati, 25 Feb (HS):- The University Grants
Commission has issued directions to the vice-chancellors of all the
universities to verify the PhD awarded by Rajasthan’s Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal
Tibrewala University. The UGC Secretary Manish Joshi has issued the directions
following detection of bogus doctoral degrees awarded by Tibrewala University.
The Standing Committee of the UGC submitted a report
on the information, data analysis, examination, and valuation of the PhD degrees
awarded by the JJTU, without following the UGC norms. The JJTU was allowed to explain its stand. It did not respond properly. Hence the UGC
has taken a firm step to verify the PhD awarded by the university.
