Bhubaneswar, 25 February (H.S.): Around 40 platoons of police will be stationed at the historic Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar for the Maha Shivaratri celebrations on February 26, as announced by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Bhubaneswar, Pinak Mishra, on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, DCP Mishra outlined the extensive security measures in place for the event. We expect lakhs of devotees to visit the Lingaraj Temple to offer their prayers. All necessary arrangements for traffic management, safety, and security have been made. Emergency services, including fire brigades, will also be available, he stated.
He added that 40 platoons of police forces, along with over 100 officers from various ranks, will be deployed at the temple on the day. Police duties will commence early in the morning and continue throughout the day. We urge the public to cooperate with the police as we aim to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the world-renowned Maha Shivaratri celebration, he added.
