Kathmandu, 24 February (HS): Nepal Police arrested seven Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in different areas of Kathmandu late Sunday evening. These people were living in Nepal after their visa had expired or had entered Nepal illegally.
SSP Ramesh Basnet of Crime Branch of Kathmandu district said on Monday that information was received about Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in different areas of Kathmandu and being involved in suspicious activities. After this, the police arrested seven Bangladeshi citizens from different areas.
SSP Basnet said that the visa of three arrested Bangladeshi citizens has expired a year ago while four do not have visas on their passports. He suspected that all of them must have entered Nepal illegally via India. Police have identified them as Mohammed Akul Islam (26), Mohammed Alammulla (40), Mohammed Jahangir Alam (37), Mohammed Aminul Haque (36), Mohammed Abdul Ahak (39), Mohammed Nasruddin (28) and Mohammed Mohsar Hussain (46).
Police said that all the Bangladeshi nationals caught were reported to be involved in suspicious activities. Basnet said that all of them were running a business of sending Bangladeshis to Gulf countries from here by setting up with the manpower companies here. In return, these people also used to charge lakhs of rupees.
