Nanded, 24 Feb (HS): Maharashtra Revenue

Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced a provision of one crore rupees for

conducting a state-level Revenue Sports Festival every year. Bawankule was speaking during the prize

distribution function of the three-day contest. Konkan Region stood at the top

followed by the host Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Pune division at number two

and three. Guardian Minister Atul Save was the guest of honour.

More than 2,000 Revenue Department staff from

seven divisions participated in the sports and cultural festival, which was

conducted in 83 different sports categories.

In the cultural contest, Nashik Division

won the first prize, followed by Konkan and Nagpur at the second and third

positions.

The Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar won the

first prize in the Marchpast. Nashik and Konkan divisions won second and third

prizes respectively.

Besides making provision for the sports

festival to be conducted every year, Bawankule also announced preference in appointment

and promotion to be given to sports persons. He also launched a WhatsApp

Gireavnce App for lodging grievances an complaints relating to the Revenue

Department. The App was a brainchild of District Collector Rahul Kardile and

the number is 9270101947. The Sports and Cultural festival was held after a gap

of 12 years.
