Kathmandu, 23 February (HS): Nepal's Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is waiting for an invitation to visit India. Talking to journalists before leaving for Geneva on Sunday, Dr. Rana said that he will visit Delhi as soon as he receives an invitation from India.
Returning from Muscat tour, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana, before leaving for Geneva a day later, said about Prime Minister Oli's visit to India that soon an invitation may come for Prime Minister Oli from the Government of India. If Prime Minister Oli does not visit India, then the two Prime Ministers are expected to meet at the BIMSTEC summit to be held in Bangkok in April. Dr. Arzu Rana said that sideline talks are expected with the Prime Minister of India at the BIMSTEC summit in the capital of Thailand on 2-4 April.
She said that even before this, sideline talks had taken place between Prime Minister Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the United Nations General Assembly. Giving clarification on Prime Minister Oli's first visit to China, Nepal's Foreign Minister said that he had visited China first because he did not receive an invitation from India.
Dr. Rana told that during the recent sideline meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar in Muscat, she had also requested Prime Minister Oli to visit India.
