Jammu, 23 February (H.S.): Jammu Development Authority (JDA) today demolished an unauthorized commercial structure at Rahya Morh, near Vijaypur in district Samba.
The drive was led and executed by Megha Gupta, Tehsildar JDA along with Naib Tehsildar JDA and the concerned enforcement field staff. The drive was monitored by Garbi Rashid, Director Land Management under the overall supervision of Pankaj Sharma, Vice Chairman JDA.
Sensing gravity of matter, the drive was carried out with the active participation of Revenue team of Tehsil Vijaypur and strong contingent of police teams led by SSP Samba and SHO Vijaypur.
Jammu Development Authority noticed that the violator had constructed a big commercial structure on National Highway at Rahya Morh Vijaypur without obtaining the necessary building permissions. Notices under relevant sections of Control of Building Operations Act, 1988 had been duly served to the violator as per the provisions of the Act. Despite notices issued to him and even after the interim order passed by the J&K Special Tribunal to maintain status quo on the spot, the violator continued with the construction work and raised a commercial structure on National Highway at Rahya Morh Vijaypur.
The JDA has once again appealed people to obtain the requisite Building Permission before initiating construction works falling outside Municipal Limits but within the Jammu Master Plan 2032. Public at large is advised not to indulge in such illegal practices of initiating construction works without obtaining valid permissions or encroaching and dealing with JDA lands as the department will be constrained to initiate stern action against the violator/ encroacher and will not desist from removing the illegal structures with cost and legal proceedings, reads a statement by JDA, adding that prospective buyers or builders should verify beforehand the exact and correct status of ownership of such land as well as obtain the requisite valid permissions from the concerned Department.
