Jaipur, 23 February (HS): The deadlock created after the comment 'Dadi' by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot during the Question Hour on February 21 in the Assembly and the suspension of six MLAs including Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara continues.
Congress MLAs are sitting on a dharna in the House. After spending two nights on a dharna in the Assembly, the protest of the MLAs continued on the third day on Sunday. After two rounds of talks with the ministers failed, the Congress MLAs are adamant on the demand of restoration of suspension, removal of the comment on Indira Gandhi from the proceedings of the House and an apology from Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said , we have talked to the opposition colleagues. We want the House to function. Congress should give up its dogmatism, realize its mistake.
Earlier on Saturday, Congress protested and burnt effigies at all the district headquarters of the state against the suspension of the MLAs. Now the Congress has also prepared to gherao the assembly on February 24, although it has not been formally announced.
On February 21, during the Question Hour in the Assembly, in response to the question, Avinash Gehlot had said, In 2023-24, the scheme was named after your Dadi.
In protest against this comment of the minister, the Congress MLAs came to the well and started a ruckus. Due to the deadlock on this issue, the proceedings of the House were adjourned four times.
Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg had proposed the suspension of Congress MLAs. Speaker Vasudev Devnani suspended Govind Singh Dotasara, Deputy Leader of Opposition Ramkesh Meena, Amin Kagzi, Zakir Hussain Gasavat, Hakam Ali Khan and Sanjay Kumar for the remaining period of the budget session.
The Speaker wants Govind Singh Dotasara to apologize first. After that, further talks should take place. On the other hand, Congress wants the minister to apologize first There is a deadlock on this.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister has agreed to remove the comment made on Indira Gandhi from the proceedings of the Assembly. Minister Jogaram Patel said that if they have an objection to any word, it will be removed from the proceedings of the House, but disrupting the proceedings of the House is wrong.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham held talks with the Congress MLAs late night on 22 February.

Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham said that being the representative of the government, it is our duty to ensure that the House runs in a cordial atmosphere.

How will the House run when the ministers of the government themselves behave like the opposition?
