New Delhi, February 22 (HS): Four technical sessions were organized on the second day of the ongoing three-day World Urdu Conference by the National Urdu Language Development Council at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The first session was on the topic of 'Urdu Shiksha ka Madhyam'.
The Director of the Council Dr. giving the opening speech in this session. Shams Iqbal said, The current scenario of Urdu medium of education is questionable in many ways, on which we should pay attention and think about the possible ways to improve the current situation, for this purpose this meeting has been organized today. I hope that important points regarding the subject will come up.
Presenter of this session's paper is Prof. Riaz Ahmed and Prof. Talat Aziz was involved, while presided over by Dr. Ammar Rizvi and Prof. Ghazanfar said. Among those who participated in the discussion, Prof. Farooq Ansari, Prof. Muhammad Faiz Ahmed, Dr. Syed Zafar Aslam and Dr. Ahmed Ali Johar was involved.
The participants of this session emphasized the importance of primary education in the mother tongue along with considering various aspects of Urdu medium of instruction and adopting various strategies to adapt the learning material of Urdu as per the needs of the modern age.
