Dehradun, 22 February (HS): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the budget of the silver jubilee year of Uttarakhand as historic and said that it will prove to be a big step towards the progress and self-reliance of the state. He launched a scathing attack on the corruption and policy failures of the previous Congress governments and said that the BJP government is giving top priority to transparency and good governance.

The Chief Minister said in his budget speech that if the Chief Servant makes a promise to the public, he takes rest only after fulfilling it. In the silver jubilee year of the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, the size of the budget has exceeded Rs one lakh crore. This shows that the state is becoming economically empowered and is creating new dimensions of development. This year's budget has increased by 13 percent compared to the previous budget, which reflects the government's commitment to the inclusive and sustainable development of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister said that the budget is based on the theme of NaMo (innovation, self-reliant Uttarakhand, great heritage and dynamic human resources). Also, he described the principles of Gyan (poor welfare, youth, farmers and women welfare) as the basic foundation of this budget. He said that this initiative of the government will help in paving new paths for the economic and social development of the state.

Recounting the scams that took place during the Congress regime,he said that the Congress promoted the black game of copying and played with the future of the young generation. The BJP implemented strict anti-copying laws to curb this evil practice, which has restored the confidence of the youth.

Apart from this, the government's historic decision regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is an important step towards equality and justice in the state.

--Successfully hosting the 38th National Games, where Uttarakhand players won 103 medals.

-- Topping the SDG Index report, showing the state's success in sustainable development efforts.

The Chief Minister describes the BJP government's approach to governance and social harmony as:

- Focusing on transparency and good governance, in contrast to the alleged corruption of the previous Congress regime.

- Adopting the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas to unite the society, in contrast to the Congress party's alleged policy of dividing the society.
