Guwahati, 22 February (HS): The special night patrolling team of the police arrested two suspicious persons during patrolling in the early hours of Saturday, who were trying to escape on seeing the police. After chasing, the police caught both of them. Several stolen mobile phones and burglary tools were recovered from the arrested persons in a black bag. During interrogation, they admitted that they are professional thieves and recently broke into a mobile shop in Lakhtakia area and stole mobile phones and other equipment from there.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rabin Ali (22) and Jahidul Islam (25).
The burglary tools recovered during this time include a screwdriver, a pair of scissors (Keshi), a Jio Bharat keypad mobile handset. Whereas, the stolen goods include a total of 29 mobile handsets (including three iPhones, 24 Android phones and two keypad mobile phones), 15 AirPods and a black bag. The police have started further action and it is being ascertained at which other places the accused have committed thefts.
