Guwahati, 22 February (HS): Mehbubul Haque, the propritor of University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has been arrested on charges of taking money in the name of help in the CBSE class 12th examination. Police detained him from his residence in Ghoramara late Wednesday night.

Mehbubul Haque's institution is accused of taking money and promising help to 214 candidates appearing for Physics exam at Sribhumi Kendriya Vidyalaya to pass. When the students did not get any help at the examination center, they got angry and started creating ruckus. After this the matter came to light and a complaint was lodged.

The police of Sribhumi police station arrested Mehbubul Haque while investigating this scam. His interrogation is going on and the police are also looking for other people associated with this racket.
