Bhubaneswar, 22 February (H.S.): The Odisha government will take action following the completion of a high-level panel's investigation into the KIIT University incident, as confirmed by the state's Higher Education Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, on Saturday.

Speaking to the media, Suraj stated that action would be based on the findings of the investigation after the committee concludes its inquiry. The committee has recorded the statements of all individuals summoned in connection with the incident, and appropriate action will be taken based on the investigation's outcome, he said.

The minister also revealed that ten people, including bouncers, trainers, and security guards, have been arrested in relation to the incident. The police investigation is ongoing, and the CCTV footage has been sent to the forensic lab. A copy will also be forwarded to the government for further review, Suraj added.

Additionally, the minister confirmed that all those involved have been suspended. Authorities are also investigating a viral audio clip linked to the incident, and if its authenticity is verified, the IT Act will be applied.
