Haridwar, 22 February (HS): A national seminar was organized on the topic of advancement in pharmacology for global health needs in the Department of Pharmacology of Gurukul Kangri University. In the program, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Hemlata said that nowadays new diseases are arising due to changing weather, food and routine, which are proving to be a big challenge for the society. To prevent diseases, one should make his daily lifestyle disciplined and pay special attention to pure food.
The Vice Chancellor told the participants that there are immense possibilities for research and innovation in the pharma sector. Everyone should make their future golden by acquiring proficiency in the knowledge of their subject.
Special guest, Vice Chancellor of IFTM University Moradabad, Prof. Navneet Verma said that India's pharma sector is the largest and economical market in the world. India exports medicines to about 195 countries of the world. The latest example of this is that during the Corona period, India provided free COVID vaccine to many countries of the world under its Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam policy, which proved that India's pharma sector can meet the global drug needs with its rapid research in times of need.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Devendra Singh Malik said that Gurukul Kangri University is a prestigious 125-year-old institution. He said that Gurukul Kangri Pharmacy was established in 1918 for the industrial training of students, which is still manufacturing and supplying advanced quality medicines.
On this occasion, an MoU was signed between Gurukul Kangri University and IFTM University Moradabad. More than 200 research students of pharmacology from 11 universities of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi NCR participated in this seminar. 70 research papers and posters were presented in it.
