Lucknow,
22 Feb (HS): Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, attacked the
government's changing ambitions for Uttar Pradesh's economy, notably its
prediction to reach a trillion dollars by 2029.
Yadav cited the BJP's previous assurances for 2024, implying a lack of
faith in such commitments. Addressing
the problem, Yadav noted that administrations who fail to fulfill their
objectives tend to change deadlines rather than focusing on the future
development of the state and nation. He
described these changes as emblematic of the BJP's alleged dishonesty.
Despite Yadav's criticisms, Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized in the state Assembly the progress
made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's double engine government,
confidently projecting the state's economic growth and asserting that UP is on
track to become India's largest economy by 2029.
