Shimla, February 22 (HS): The budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will begin from March 10, for which preparations are in full swing.

Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has directed all the concerned officers and employees to complete the necessary arrangements in time for the smooth conduct of the session.

He said that the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Electricity Department are responsible for the repair, cleaning and power supply of the assembly premises, which will have to complete these works within the stipulated time frame. Along with this, the officers and employees of the Assembly Secretariat have also been asked to give priority to the session related works.

Security and Journalist Committee meetings on March 7 and 8

A meeting of the concerned officials will be held on March 7 regarding security arrangements during the budget session, while on March 8, the meeting of the Journalist Gallery Committee will be held in the main committee room of the Assembly Secretariat.

Budget will be presented on March 17

Pathania said that this is the third budget session of the present government, in which the Chief Minister will present the budget for the financial year 2025-26 on March 17. Information is being received from the MLAs for the questions to be asked in the House, which is being sent to the government for further action.

Public interest issues should be raised in the House

The Assembly Speaker has appealed to all the MLAs to raise the problems of their respective constituencies effectively in the House. He said that the budget session is important and there should be an in-depth discussion on development works in it. The government should also give logical answers to the questions and issues raised by the members as well as make concrete efforts towards finding a solution.
