Hyderabad, 22 February (H.S.): A terrifying incident occurred in the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana when a section of the roof collapsed, leaving at least six workers trapped. The construction company responsible for the project is currently assessing the situation and gathering information from the company involved.
The accident happened while some workers were inside the tunnel as part of their work. As a result, some individuals sustained injuries, prompting Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to direct officials to carry out relief measures. State Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, government advisor on irrigation Adityanath Das, and other irrigation officials immediately rushed to the site via a special helicopter.
Expressing concern over the incident, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy instructed officials to prioritize the safety of the trapped workers and provide necessary medical treatment to those injured. This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of stringent safety measures in construction projects to ensure the well-being of all workers involved.
