Guwahati, 22 February (HS): State BJP President Dilip Saikia has said that his party will conduct three types of surveys in connection with the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. Under this, the performance of the current MLAs will be surveyed. At the same time, what are the problems at the level of assembly constituencies, they will be surveyed. Apart from this, what are the issues at the local level and what is the local political situation, they will be surveyed. Dilip Saikia was having an informal conversation with representatives of the national media at the state BJP headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan on Saturday.

He said that the new committee of the state BJP will be declared in the executive meeting to be held on March 1 in the presence of National Organizational General Secretary BL Santosh. He said that this time the three-member booth committee will include foster workers. That is, the most powerful BJP leader at the booth level will be included in that committee as a foster worker representative. He said that the party is trying to strengthen its position at every booth, because elections can be won only by winning the booth.

In response to a question, the BJP President said that the word minority has no meaning for the BJP. The BJP thinks about the overall development of Assam. All 126 seats of the state are important for the party. He said that the BJP will fight the upcoming elections under the banner of NDA.

During this, he discussed the BJP's commitment towards the Northeast from the merger of Jansangh with the Janata Party in 1977 and the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980 till today. He told how the BJP raised the problem of foreigners in Assam at the national level. How the Assam movement was supported by the BJP leaders. How 10 percent allocation was made for the Northeast in the Union Budget, the formation of the Donor Ministry, the formation of the Tribal Affairs Department, etc. during the governments formed for 13 days, 13 months and four and a half years under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Center. He also gave information about how the BJP government at the Center and the state is working on the Assam Accord. He said that in 2013-14, the budget of the railways used to be two thousand crore rupees. Today this budget has reached at ₹10,646 crore. It is well known what work the BJP government has done in the field of rail, road and cyber connectivity. Today this government is giving ₹45,000 crore to Assam as state share.

He said that his government changed the Look East Policy to Act East, then Act First and again changed it to Act Fast Policy, paving the way for rapid and sustainable development of the Northeast. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing everything possible to make the Northeast the engine of the country's development by giving it the status of Ashtalakshmi.

During this, after setting a world record for Bihu, he informed about the preparations being made to set a world record for the Jhumar dance of the tea tribe. At the same time, he said that under Advantage Assam 2.0, from Ambani, Adani to small industrialists, there is a possibility of investing two lakh crore rupees in Assam.

He said that Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is reaching Jorhat airport tomorrow with the ambassadors of 50 countries. From there the ambassadors will come to Kaziranga and rest for the night. After elephant and jeep safari in Kaziranga, all the ambassadors will come to Guwahati from there, where they will enjoy Jhumar dance. He told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach here on 24 February. He will inspect the 226 stalls to be set up here for 45 minutes. During this, various sessions will be organized.

During this time, Assam government minister Jayant Mallabarua, party's chief spokesperson Manoj Barua, senior leader Pulak Gohain, media coordinator Devan Dhruv Jyoti Maral etc. were also present along with BJP President Dilip Saikia.
