Una, 21 February (HS): Para athlete Sunil Kumar of Landial Santu village of Amb subdivision of Una district has brought laurels to the state by winning the silver medal in javelin throw by performing brilliantly in the 23rd National Para Athletics Championship 2025. This prestigious competition was held in Chennai, Tamil Nadu from 17 to 20 February, in which the best para athletes from across the country participated in various events.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Yadavindra Goma and Una District Administration have congratulated Sunil Kumar on this remarkable achievement. Continuous efforts are being made by the state government to promote sports and the government is working with commitment to provide all possible support to promising players.

Expressing happiness over this achievement of Sunil Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri wrote in his social media post, In the 23rd National Para Athletics Championship held in Chennai, promising para athlete Sunil Kumar of Amb subdivision of Una district has made the state proud by winning the silver medal in javelin throw. This is a proud moment for the state. I extend my heartfelt best wishes to him and wish him a bright future.

24-year-old Sunil Kumar has been passionate about sports since childhood. Despite adverse circumstances and challenges, he achieved this success with his courage, determination and hard work.
