New Delhi, 21 February (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend Kisan Samman Samaroh in Bhagalpur on 24 February, according to Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a press conference held at Krishi Bhavan on Friday.

In the last 18th installment of Kisan Yojana, Rs 20,665 crore was given by the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry. Now on 24 February, in the 19th installment, more than Rs 22,000 crore will be transferred directly to the farmers in their bank accounts.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that farmer welfare is the top priority of the Modi government. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019.

He told that the Prime Minister will transfer the 19th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to the accounts of farmers with a single click from Bhagalpur on 24 February 2025. Till now, money used to go to the accounts of about 9 crore 60 lakh farmers from this fund. If any eligible farmer is left out, then the process of adding his name has been run by the Ministry of Agriculture. This time an amount of Rs 22 thousand crore will be transferred to about 9 crore 80 lakh farmers.

He said that in this program of Bhagalpur, along with the Prime Minister, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with other ministers will participate.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the program will also be organized in 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country. It will also be broadcast live on DD Kisan, webcast on My Gov, YouTube, Facebook and more than 5 lakh Common Service Centers across the country. About 2.5 crore farmers will join this program physically and virtually.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Makhana is the main crop of Bihar. A decision has been taken to establish a Makhana Board to provide energy to Makhana producers.
