NEW DELHI, 20 February (H.S.): By electing Rekha Gupta as the CM of Delhi, BJP focused on 'Mahila Minorities and Middle class'. Kept in mind the participation of women voters and the resentment of the middle class in Delhi.
While electing Rekha Gupta as the CM of Delhi, BJP hit 'ek teer se koi nishane'. But the biggest equation was that of MMM. MMM means women, minority and middle class. These three groups have the biggest impact on Delhi elections. This time women have voted for BJP in large numbers. So exit polls show that the middle class & government servants have given full support to BJP, the effect of which was clearly visible on the election results. There is no such resentment among the minority i.e. Muslim voters about Rekha Gupta, can understand from the statements of many other leaders. Therefore this MMM is no less than a master stroke by BJP.According to data available, there are a total of 1,55,24,858 voters in Delhi, out of which 71.74 lakh i.e. almost half are women. More women voters voted in the 2025 assembly elections. About 60.92% women came out of their homes and voted while only 60.21% men came out to vote. Similarly, the middle class population in Delhi is considered to be around 45%. The middle class was unhappy with the fact that governments only focus on the poor and no one is there for them. But BJP made them happy by exempting the income of Rs 12 lakh from tax in the budget. Its effect was visible in the election results also. BJP does not want to let its hold on this working class weaken. There is a new trend in Delhi politics, which can have a big impact in the upcoming elections. Therefore, BJP thought it is appropriate to trust a woman. Therefore, PM Modi trusted on Rekha Gupta who comes from Vaishya community and middle class family.
