New Delhi, February 20 (HS): Rouse Avenue Court's Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal has dismissed the criminal defamation petition filed by former Delhi government minister Satyendra Jain against BJP MP from New Delhi seat Bansuri Swaraj. The court had reserved the decision on February 13. In her reply, Bansuri Swaraj had described Satyendra Jain's petition as politically motivated.

Satyendra Jain had filed a petition saying that Bansuri Swaraj had said in her statement that Rs 3 crore, 1.8 kg gold and 133 gold coins were found from her house. The petition said that Bansuri Swaraj had made statements tarnishing his image in an interview aired on a TV channel on October 5, 2023. In this statement, Bansuri Swaraj had termed Satyendra Jain as corrupt and fake. These statements were false, which had nothing to do with the truth.

Satyendra Jain had said in the petition that this statement of Bansuri Swaraj was given to defame him. Through this statement, Bansuri Swaraj wanted to take undue political advantage. This interview was seen by millions of people. An attempt was made to tarnish his image.

Cases of disproportionate assets and money laundering are going on against Satyendra Jain. Satyendra Jain was arrested in this case on May 30, 2022. Satyendra Jain got bail on October 18, 2024.
