Tamil Nadu Governor Slams 'Hollow Rhetoric' of Those Claiming to Uphold Tamil Pride

Tamil Nadu, 19 February (H.S.): Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi has lashed out at individuals and groups who claim to uphold Tamil pride, saying their rhetoric is hollow and lacks substance.

Speaking at a function in Chennai, the Governor said that true Tamil pride lies in upholding the values of social justice, equality, and inclusivity, rather than just paying lip service to it.

Some people claim to be champions of Tamil pride, but their actions are empty and lacking in substance, the Governor said. True Tamil pride is not about rhetoric or symbolism, but about working towards the welfare and upliftment of all sections of society.

The Governor's comments are seen as a veiled attack on some Tamil nationalist groups and politicians who have been accused of using Tamil pride as a political tool.

The Governor also emphasized the need for Tamil Nadu to focus on education, healthcare, and economic development, rather than getting bogged down in empty rhetoric.

Tamil Nadu has a rich cultural heritage and a proud history, but we must not rest on our laurels, the Governor said. We must work towards building a brighter future for all our citizens, and that requires hard work, dedication, and a commitment to inclusivity and social justice.
