New Delhi, 19 February (HS): Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan's resolution of planting a sapling every day has completed 4 years.

Giving this information, the ministry said that on completion of 4 years of plantation, Chauhan will plant saplings on Thursday with Jal Sakhis at Jatashankar in Chhatarpur. Jal Sakhis work to create awareness about saving water in rural areas and maintain and supply ponds, ponds, water tanks in gram panchayat areas.

Chauhan had pledged to plant a sapling every day on the banks of Maa Narmada in Amarkantak on 19 February 2021 and planted the first sapling in Amarkantak with his wife Sadhana Singh Chauhan. Chauhan has planted more than 4 thousand 500 saplings in more than 20 states of the country so far.

Many dignitaries including the President of the country, ambassadors of various countries, chief ministers, public representatives, social workers, environmentalists, artists have joined Shivraj Singh's pledge of planting a sapling every day.
