New Delhi, February 18 (HS): Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is on a visit to India these days. During this visit, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, where the two leaders discussed further strengthening India-UK relations. On this meeting, PM Modi said that Sunak is a good friend of India. During this, Sunak's family was also present with him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared pictures of this meeting on social media and wrote, It was a pleasure to meet former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family. We had a wonderful and meaningful discussion on many topics. Describing Rishi Sunak as a true friend of India, PM Modi expressed his commitment to further deepen bilateral relations.

During this meeting, Rishi Sunak was accompanied by his wife Akshata Murthy, daughters Krishna and Anushka, and his mother-in-law and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy. During the India visit, the Sunak family visited the Parliament House in Delhi, where they were welcomed by Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh. Apart from this, they also attended the Taj Mahal in Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, and Jaipur Literature Festival.

During the India visit, Rishi Sunak also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. In this meeting, various aspects of enhancing financial cooperation between India and the UK and accelerating economic growth were discussed. Describing this meeting as important, the Finance Ministry shared on social media that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Rishi Sunak discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral economic relations.

Rishi Sunak reiterated his special attachment to India and said that India and Britain have historically had strong relations, and I want to see these relations grow further.
