Malappuram (Kerala), February 18 (HS): More than 30 people were injured in an accident caused by firecrackers during a football match in Areekode in Malappuram district of Kerala. The accident occurred when firecrackers were lit during the celebration before the match, but they went out of control and spread among the spectators.
Soon after the accident, the local administration and emergency services were activated and the injured were admitted to a nearby private hospital. According to preliminary information, no one is reported to be seriously injured.
As soon as the incident was reported, Areekode police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. According to the police, the accident occurred due to uncontrolled bursting of firecrackers. More information related to the incident is awaited.
