Mumbai, February 19 (HS): Maharashtra BJP strongly criticized after Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary on Wednesday on social media.

Rahul Gandhi offered his Shraddhanjali (homage) to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj instead of using the term Adaranjali (respectful tribute), which is typically used on such occasions. This has drawn criticism, especially from those who believe that it shows unintentional disrespect toward a figure held in great esteem, particularly in Maharashtra.

BJP leaders have demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi.

BJP leader Praveen Darekar said that Rahul Gandhi has always been insulting the great men of India. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi has insulted Swatantryaveer Savarkar many times. His mentality has always been anti-national. Rahul Gandhi should immediately apologize unconditionally for this mistake, otherwise BJP will not tolerate it.

Minister Nitesh Narayan Rane said that Rahul Gandhi has made such a post viral on the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who is considered as a god not only in Maharashtra but also in the country. This is a big mistake, but apart from this, no good thoughts can be expected from Rahul Gandhi. The reason is that he always supports Aurangzeb's ideas. Nitesh Rane said that Rahul Gandhi should apologize immediately, otherwise Maharashtra will not remain silent without teaching him a befitting lesson.

BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar said,Congress has been wiped out in Maharashtra because of Rahul Gandhi's ideas. Today he has insulted a great man. Even if he has posted this by mistake, he should delete it immediately and ask for it from the general public, otherwise we will take legal action against him.
