New Delhi, 18 February (HS): Global market is showing signs of strength today. US markets remained closed during the last session due to President's Day on Monday in the US. However, Dow Jones Futures is trading with a marginal gain of 0.07 percent today. European markets were successful in reaching record highs yesterday. There is a general buying trend in Asian markets today as well.
With the support of buying, there was a continuous bullish environment in the European market during the last session. The FTSE index jumped 0.41 percent to close at 8,768.01 points. Similarly, the CAC index ended the last session's trading at 8,189.13 points with a gain of 0.13 percent. Apart from this, the DAX index closed at 22,798.09 points with a gain of 284.67 points i.e. 1.25 percent.
There is a generally bullish trend in Asian markets today. Out of 9 Asian markets, 8 indices are trading in the green with gains, while only one index is in the red with a decline. The only index in Asian markets, Nifty, is trading at 22,952 points with a weakness of 0.25 percent.
On the other hand, the Nikkei index is trading at 39,438.68 points with a strength of 264.43 points i.e. 0.68 percent. Similarly, the Straits Times index has jumped 0.21 percent to reach the level of 3,913.05 points. There is a strong rise in the Hang Seng index. Currently, this index is trading at 23,063.93 points with a jump of 447.70 points i.e. 1.98 percent. Similarly, the Jakarta Composite Index jumped 0.86 percent to reach 6,889.68 points. Apart from this, the Kospi Index is trading at 2,624.44 points with a gain of 0.54 percent, the Taiwan Weighted Index is trading at 23,554.68 points with a gain of 0.21 percent, the SET Composite Index is trading at 1,260.61 points with a gain of 0.33 percent and the Shanghai Composite Index is trading at 3,365.51 points with a jump of 0.29 percent.
