New Delhi, 18 February (HS): The Supreme Court has stayed the arrest of YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, who is facing FIRs in several states due to his obscene comments in a comedy show, till further orders. The bench headed by Justice Suryakant has issued notices to the state governments in which FIRs have been registered. The court said that Ranveer will join the investigation whenever he is called for questioning.
The court said that Ranveer will not go out of the country without the permission of the court and will have to submit his passport to the police station. Currently, Ranveer and his friends will not do the India's Got Latent show. The court said that the filth in Ranveer's mind has come out through this show. He should be ashamed of his comments. The kind of comments Ranveer has made, parents will feel ashamed. Daughters and sisters will feel ashamed. The whole society will feel ashamed. He has reached this level of obscenity.
Justice Suryakant told ASG Aishwarya Bhati, who appeared in another case, that Attorney General R Venkataramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta should assist the court in the next hearing on Ranveer's petition in the controversy related to India Got Latent.
It has been said in Ranveer's petition that FIRs have been registered against him in many states. Actually, Ranveer had commented on parents and sex in comedian Samay Raina's India Got Latent show, which has created a lot of uproar. Due to this comment, FIRs have been registered against Allahabadia in many states.
