New Delhi, February 18 (HS): The fourth edition of World Food India will be held in the capital from 25 to 28 September. In connection with this world-class food fair, a round table meeting was held with Resident Commissioners and representatives of States and Union Territories under the chairmanship of Dr. Subrit Gupta, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in New Delhi on Tuesday. The agenda of the round table was to discuss possible areas of cooperation with States and Union Territories for World Food India 2025.

On this occasion, Additional Secretary, FPI, Minhaj Alam said that the event will provide a platform to the States and Union Territories to showcase opportunities, interact with global and domestic suppliers, buyers and technology providers for cooperation and generate investment and sourcing interest in the food processing value chain. In the meeting, Secretary Dr. Subrit Gupta informed the Resident Commissioners and representatives that the mega event will be held from 25th to 28th September 2025 and also highlighted the initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry. These include schemes such as Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLIS), Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) which aim to drive investment, innovation and value addition across the sector while enhancing India’s global presence.

FPI Secretary Dr. Gupta further emphasized that an event of this scale requires concerted efforts from stakeholders across the value chain. To unleash its full potential, it is essential for all States and Union Territories (UTs) to participate with their full might. States and UTs were suggested to share their feedback and suggestions to enhance the success of the event and actively contribute in making it a landmark initiative.

The participating Resident Commissioners and representatives of States and Union Territories assured the necessary support for the activities planned for World Food India 2025.

FPI Joint Secretary D. Praveen in his concluding remarks requested all States and UTs to actively engage with the Ministry to showcase the strength of the Indian food processing sector and maximize their participation in the mega event. He further emphasized that the Ministry will visit various States to engage with industry stakeholders, promote the event and gain insights on challenges of the industry, interventions required to enhance ease of doing business.
