NEW DELHI, 18 February (H.S.) :

RPF has now submitted its

report to his Top boss in the New Delhi Station Stampede matter. According to

sources, the report says, announcement of Kumbh special train twice caused

stampede and the accident occurred due to crowd and slipping on the stairs. RPF

has revealed in its report because how the stampede took place at New Delhi

Railway Station on 15th February night.

RPF i.e. Railway

Protection Force (RPF) has told in its report what happened that night, due to

which such a big accident took place. According to Sources, RPF has said in its

report that an announcement was made twice for two different platforms for the

Kumbh special train going to Prayagraj. It is possible that the stampede that

took place on Saturday night may have happened due to this reason. According to

sources, In the first announcement it was said that the train going to Kumbh

would open from platform number 12 and the second announcement was made just 3

minutes later. It was said that the train going to Prayagraj will depart from

platform number 16. Actually, there 2 different trains were running.

According to sources, The

Inspector in charge of the New Delhi Station Post of RPF has prepared this

report. It has been said in this report that after the announcement for Kumbh

Special, the passengers of platform numbers 12, 13, 14 and 15 started moving

towards foot-over bridge numbers 2 and 3 on foot. There was a jam created on

all these platforms mentioned. All those passengers were using the stairs on

foot. At the same time, passengers of

Magadh Express (standing at platform number 14), Uttar Sampark Kranti Express

(standing at platform number 15) and Prayagraj Express (which was about to

arrive at the station) were also coming down from the stairs. These passengers

came face to face. Due to overcrowding, some passengers were slipped on the

stairs, fell down and were crushed by other passengers.

The sources said, tt has also

been told in the report that after the departure of Sivaganga Express from

platform number 12 at 8 pm, a huge crowd of passengers started gathering on that

platform. The path leading to platform numbers 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 were

completely blocked by crowd. Sources said, the report says that the RPF

inspector had advised the station director to run the special train quickly.

Not only this, the RPF Inspector had also asked the Railway team, which was

selling 1500 tickets every hour for Prayagraj, to immediately stop selling

tickets.

According to the report, the

announcement was at 8:45 pm on Saturday night that the Kumbh Special train

going to Prayagraj will leave from platform number 12. After some time, it was

again announced at the station that the Kumbh special train will leave from

platform number 16. After these confusing announcements, a stampede occurred

among the passengers. Hearing the announcement, passengers of Prayagraj Special

from platform 12- 13 and 14-15 ran to board the train by foot over bridge 2 and

3 via the stairs. According to the report, meanwhile, passengers of the other

train were coming down from the stairs. There was a scuffle between them and a

stampede occurred. The accident happened at 8.48 pm.
