New Delhi, February 17 (HS): The National Commission for Women on Monday set a new date for hearing for YouTubers of 'India's Got Latent' including Ranveer Allahabadia. Allahabadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Pujari and Saurabh Bothra have been summoned on March 6, while Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh and Balraj Ghai have been summoned on March 11.
The National Commission for Women had issued summons to Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija and others to appear on Monday over the derogatory comments made in the YouTube program 'India's Got Latent'. The commission had asked everyone to appear in person on February 17 at 12 noon, but everyone had requested for another date.
The National Commission for Women informed that some individuals cited concerns about personal safety, prior foreign travel commitments and other logistical challenges for their absence. The Commission has considered these reasons thoroughly and has rescheduled the hearing to allow them to comply with the summons.
Allahabadia has informed the Commission that he has been receiving death threats and has therefore requested a fresh date for hearing after three weeks. The Commission has accepted his request and has rescheduled the hearing for March 6. Apurva Mukhija informed that she fears for her safety and can only attend the hearing virtually. Her counsel mentioned in an email that Mukhija will appear in person once the situation normalises. The Commission has accepted her request and has rescheduled the hearing for March 6. Samay Raina is currently on a visit to the US for a pre-planned tour and has assured the Commission that he will appear for the hearing on his return to India. The commission has accepted his request and rescheduled the hearing for March 11.
