New Delhi, February 17 (HS): All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Chairman Prof. TG Sitaram on Monday inaugurated Phase-2 of the second edition of the Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp. IDE Bootcamp is a major initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Organized by the Innovation Cell (MIC) of the Ministry of Education and AICTE, the program aims to promote innovation, design expertise and entrepreneurial skills among student innovators across the country.

On this occasion, Prof. TG Sitaram in his address described the bootcamp as a celebration of innovation and design thinking, emphasizing the importance of productization for India's development. He urged the participants to adopt design thinking as a key tool for product development and innovation. Prof. Sitaram also gave information about the upcoming AICTE Productization Fellowship which will help promote the culture of productization. He said that AI will revolutionize the way we work, stressing on the need to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and innovation. He lauded Wadhwani Foundation for playing a key role in promoting bootcamps across the country.

Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman and CIO, AICTE emphasized that AICTE and MIC are committed to conducting programs that encourage and enable students to pursue innovative ideas. Dr. Jere also shared the success of Udyamotsav-2025, where over 300 startups presented their ideas to over 100 investors from across India.

The IDE Bootcamp initiative, which started in June 2023, has already seen great success. Last year, 34 bootcamps were organized in which over 7,000 student innovators and faculty mentors participated. These bootcamps have equipped the participants with the skills required to develop innovative products and startups. The second phase of the bootcamp aims to onboard over 3,000 student innovators and innovation ambassadors from higher education institutions across the country, including students from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, under a special scholarship scheme. The bootcamp will run from February 17 to 21, providing participants a five-day experience focused on innovation, design and entrepreneurship.

Mitul Patel and Rajiv Warrier of the Wadhwani Foundation also attended the inaugural event.
