
Chennai, 8 December (H.S.) : A functionary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has been arrested in the Dharmapuri district for allegedly biting a police officer during a protest.
The incident took place near Palacode on Sunday, where the party was demonstrating against the opening of a new liquor shop in the area.
The arrested functionary, identified as Gemini, was taken into custody after a video clip of him grabbing the arm of the policeman on duty and sinking his teeth into it went viral across social media platforms.
Police officials confirmed the arrest and added that four other TVK members were also detained for defying police orders and restraints during the course of the demonstration.
