New Delhi, 8 December (H.S.): The Supreme Court on Monday refused to grant an urgent hearing on a petition seeking its intervention in the recent IndiGo flight cancellations that disrupted travel plans for thousands of passengers across the country.During the morning mentioning before the Chief Justice’s bench, an advocate requested immediate listing of the matter, citing widespread inconvenience caused by the airline’s large-scale operational disruption.

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, declined to list the case for urgent hearing, stating that the central government has already taken cognizance of the issue and appropriate action is underway.

“The government has intervened in time.Let them handle the matter — there is no need for urgent hearing,” the Chief Justice observed while turning down the plea for immediate consideration.

The crisis, which led to mass cancellations and delays of IndiGo’s flights across several routes, has sparked public concern and official scrutiny.

Aviation authorities have already sought explanations from the airline regarding the large-scale disruption and passenger grievances.
