Bhubaneswar, 8 December (H.S.): A student of Sarbati Devi Women’s College, who had suffered 90 per cent burn injuries, succumbed to her wounds in the early hours of Monday while undergoing treatment at the IGH hospital in Rourkela.

According to police, the student allegedly set herself on fire following harassment by her male friend. The incident took place late Friday night in the Lanjiberna area of Rajgangpur, while her family members were asleep.

Rajgangpur police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the case and initiated further investigation.
