Glamour in the film industry draws many aspirants in to it's fold. Film industry across the globe was male dominated, and Kannada film industry was no different.
But in the year 1975 history of sorts was created by Parvathamma Rajkumar. She erased the border of gender discrimination by her phenomenal influence not only in Kannada film industry but also in Indian Film industry.
Dr Rajkumar who was the top star of Kannada film Industry from 1954 had to change his course of professional life due to some unforeseen circumstances.
The under current was, few producers began to complain about the box office performance of Dr Rajkumar's movies. This situation resulted in Dr Rajkumar contemplating to quit film industry and go back to his village.
It was at this juncture Parvathamma Rajkumar decided to give a shot in Kannada film industry.
The sole purpose of this decision was to prove the fact that Dr Rajkumar was never a liability and was the most popular, saleable film star in Kannada film industry.
The result was the launch of M/s Vajreshwari Combines conglomerate at Gandhi Nagar, Bangalore.
Dr Rajkumar's career was curated to level next over the the period 1975- 1980. Parvathamma Rajkumar turned Kannada Film Producer in the year 1975 through the movie Trimurti starring Dr Rajkumar in triple role. The film was a block buster and created records in the film industry.
In the year 1978 Parvathamma Rajkumar turned a Kannada Film Distributor through the movie Shankar Guru. Dr Rajkumar essayed double role in the movie Shankar Guru. The movie shattered all the records of Kannada film Industry and created a milestone for box office revenue collection.
In the year 1980, Parvathamma Rajkumar started the Exhibtor enterprise through Ravichandra. Starring Dr Rajkumar in dual role,
Trimurti, Shankar Guru and Ravichandra proved to the entire film industry the brand power of
Dr Rajkumar.
In a matter of five years, Parvathamma Rajkumar through M/ s Vajreshwari Combines had created history in the Indian film industry by being a Woman, the CEO of a film business enterprise in film production, film distribution and film exhibition.
M/ s Vajreshwari Combines over the years contributed to the growth of Kannada film Industry by presenting movies with messages.
Between 1980 and 2005 AD , M/ s Vajreshwari Combines not only launched the career of Shiva Raj Kumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar but also dozens of talented film fraternity members.
Many of the talents introduced by her went on to become house hold names in Kannada film industry. As a matter of fact, Parvathamma Rajkumar was instrumental in expanding the industry to different level. For the records over 85 films are produced by the business enterprise over the last five decades.
It's been an eventful golden Jubilee of the Business Enterprise M/ s Vajreshwari Combines in the year 2025.
And 6th December marks the 86th birthday day of the legendary Kannada film matriarch.
Parvathamma Rajkumar lives in the mind space of Kannadigas by the phenomenal experiences and message of her movies.
Born 6th December 1939, at KR Nagar Princely State of Mysuru, the life and times of Parvathamma Rajkumar is the stuff of a legend.
Above all, Parvathamma Rajkumar's life is a testimony to the women power in the contemporary world. May her tribe grow and glow.
