Kamrup (Assam), 06 December (HS): A shocking incident has rocked Khopanikuchi in Hajo, where a youth allegedly drugged his girlfriend’s father and murdered the 17-year-old girl. The accused, identified as Ahmad Ali, is the nephew of the victim’s father and the son of their neighbour Jamal Ali.

According to police and locals said today, Ahmad Ali had been in a long-term relationship with the victim, who was also his aunt’s daughter. He frequently visited the girl’s house and had allegedly subjected her to physical abuse on several occasions. Family members said Ahmad had even threatened to kill the girl multiple times.

The crime took place on Tuesday night when Ahmad visited the house as usual. He reportedly offered a drug-laced bidi to the girl’s father, Julhaz Uddin. After smoking it, Julhaz became unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, Ahmad allegedly murdered the minor girl inside her room.

On Wednesday morning, Julhaz regained consciousness and was devastated to find his daughter lying lifeless in a pool of blood. His cries alerted neighbours, prompting Ahmad to flee from the scene.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Hajo Police arrested Ahmad Ali’s father, Jamal Ali today. However, the main accused Ahmad Ali remains absconding and police have launched a search to nab him.---------------
