Chennai, 5 December (H.S.) : A 57-year-old man was murdered near Sathankulam on Wednesday evening following an argument over a land boundary dispute.

The deceased was identified as James Sithar Selvan of Puthantharuvai, who was also the husband of Sub-Inspector of Police Matilda Jeyarani.

The incident occurred when Selvan was visiting his vacant land, accompanied by his mother. An altercation erupted after Selvan discovered that his neighbor, Jacob Thangapandi (44), who owns an adjacent plot, had fenced off a small portion of his property.

The dispute escalated, resulting in Selvan's murder. Based on a formal complaint, the Thattarmadam police filed a case and subsequently arrested Thangapandi.
