Thiruvananthapuram, 05 December(HS): Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, who is accused of rape, molestation and forced abortion of a woman, is a sexually perverted person, according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
“He is a sexually perverted person and this was known to the Congress leaders. They should have shunned him and kept him away from public life,” said Vijayan while addressing reporters at Ernakulam Press Club on Friday. But he was all praise for Congress which he described as a party with great lineage and heritage,
The Chief Minister also charged that a coterie of leaders in the Congress are helping Rahul Mamkootathil in evading arrest and this is because they are the beneficiaries of his “adventurous deeds”. “Without the help extended by the top leadership of the Congress it would not have been possible for Rahul Mamkootathil to remain elusive. The leaders of the Congress party are arranging his safe travel from place to place,” said Vijayan.
He waxed eloquence on the Congress which he described as party with great lineage which exposes the secret deal between the CPI(M), the CPI and the Congress. Though he was highly critical of the BJP, terming it communal and Fascist, Vijayan was all praise for the Congress throughout the press briefing.
Rest of the press meet was full of his routine bragging about his ten year rule as chief minister. The reporters were in for split when the chief minister claimed that even developed countries in Europe and East Asia were replicating Kerala model of development initiated by him. “The State’s highways and ring roads of global standards, the Kochi Metro and Water Metro are attracting policy makers and rulers to remodel their countries in Kerala style,” claimed Vijayan even as reporters were seen laughing in muffled voices.
V D Satheeshan, Leader of Opposition, said that the whole Rahul Mamkootathil episode is a cock and bull story created and spread by the Kerala Government to suppress the Gold theft at Sabarimala and other scams.
