
Dhaka, 4 December (H.S.): Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus visited former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Wednesday at Evercare Hospital, where she is receiving critical care. Yunus urged Zia’s family, party leaders, and supporters to remain patient during her treatment.
The medical team overseeing her health includes experts from the United States, Britain, China, and Bangladesh, highlighting the severity of her condition. Yunus reassured the public of comprehensive government support for her care.
Zia has been hospitalized since November 23, recently moved to the Critical Care Unit due to deteriorating health. High-profile visits by three armed forces chiefs underscored concerns about her condition. Her son, Tarique Rahman, currently exiled in London, is managing her treatment remotely, expressing longing for his mother amid restrictions on his return to Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern and offered India’s full support for her recovery. Similarly, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his sincere wishes for her swift recuperation.
