New Delhi, 4 December (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and INDIA bloc leaders, accusing them of working on a “foreign-backed anti-India agenda” aimed at insulting Indian culture, Sanatan Dharma, and deities.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh alleged that the opposition alliance has been deliberately engaging in rhetoric that undermines India’s civilizational ethos. “This is not just political posturing; it is contract politics sponsored by foreign handlers,” Chugh told reporters in New Delhi.

Citing recent controversial remarks, Chugh said Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s “derogatory comments” about Hindu deities and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s mockery of Sanatan Dharma reflect the “true mindset of Congress leadership.” He asserted that the people of India “fully know how to respond to such disrespect.”

Questioning the Congress’s intent, Chugh asked whether the party’s objective was now limited to “insulting Hinduism and spreading religious animosity.” He further alleged that while Revanth Reddy mocks Hindu gods, Sukhu talks of preventing children’s religious expression, wondering if Rahul Gandhi had given his chief ministers a “free license to attack Hindu beliefs.”

Chugh also recalled that during the Telangana elections, Congress extended support to AIMIM despite its leader’s objectionable remarks, accusing the party of “Muslim vote-bank politics.”

“Revanth Reddy himself once said Congress means Muslims and Muslims mean Congress,” he added, pointing out Rahul Gandhi’s reluctance to take an oath in the name of God despite showcasing religious symbols during his campaigns.

Highlighting similar instances, Chugh reminded that the DMK—a key INDIA bloc constituent—had once organised an event titled Eradicate Sanatan Dharma, yet Congress maintained silence.

Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier warning, he remarked that Congress is “turning into a Muslim League–Maoist outfit,” and said its pattern of disrespecting institutions, lowering parliamentary dignity, and promoting anti-Hindu narratives demonstrates an “urban Naxal mindset.”
