New Delhi, 30 December (HS): Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have suffered a setback ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 after key overseas players Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland withdrew from the tournament due to personal reasons.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the WPL said RCB have signed Sayali Satghare as a replacement for Perry. Satghare has been inducted at her reserve price of Rs 30 lakh. Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, have named Australian spinner Alana King as the replacement for Sutherland at a reserve price of Rs 60 lakh.
The league also confirmed changes in the UP Warriors squad. Left-arm medium pacer Tara Norris will not be available for WPL 2026 as she has been selected in the United States national team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, scheduled to be held in Nepal from January 18 to February 1, 2026.
UP Warriors have signed uncapped Australian all-rounder Charli Knott as Norris’s replacement at a reserve price of Rs 10 lakh.
The fourth season of the Women’s Premier League will begin on January 9, 2026, with the final scheduled to be played on February 5.
