New Delhi, 3 December (H.S.): Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Vigraha arrived at Jakarta port on Wednesday as part of its deployment to ASEAN nations, marking a four-day operational visit until December 5 to enhance maritime cooperation with Indonesia's maritime security agency.
ICG Commander Amit Uniyal stated the deployment aligns with Act East Policy, regional security for all, and Indo-Pacific initiatives, featuring professional exchanges, tabletop exercises, shipboard drills, and joint training sessions to boost maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, pollution response, and information sharing.
The visit builds on the July 2020 India-Indonesia MoU framework, enabling coordinated patrols and best practice exchanges; post-Jakarta, Vigraha will proceed to Port Klang, Malaysia, reaffirming both nations' commitment to a rules-based Indo-Pacific through high-level visits, training, and joint operations.
