New Delhi, 3 December (H.S.): Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated on Wednesday that the Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminals (GCT) initiative is accelerating industrial development, connectivity, and logistics efficiency across India. Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Gati Shakti National Master Plan, 130 such terminals have already been developed nationwide.

Addressing the Lok Sabha during question hour, Vaishnaw emphasized the policy's focus on integrating various transportation modes to benefit industries. He highlighted that if connecting sections of 30-40 km are required, they can be developed under the program, and urged collaboration among MPs, state governments, and railway officials to explore industrial growth prospects in rural areas.

The minister also mentioned the flexibility in railway project alignments when necessary and praised the new name of the Prime Minister's Office, 'Seva Teerth,' reflecting the government's commitment to serving the public with dedication.
