Kochi, 03 December (HS): Rahul Mamkoottathil MLA and leader of the Congress who is on the run from the hands of law in connection with the rape and assault of a 23-year old lady told the court on Wednesday that he cannot be arrested since it was a consensual sex.

Mamkoottathil told the Court at Thiruvananthapuram that the allegation of rape against him was a BJP-CPI (M) conspiracy as part of these parties’ intention to finish him off politically. But the Congress MLA remained absconding despite the Kerala Police’s effort to catch him from his hide out.

Though the cops are on an intensive search to nab him, Rahul Mamkoottathil has succeeded in giving a slip to the former by changing his hide outs a number of times and switching over to different limousines. The MLA, known for his penchant for fast cars and fat girls, is shifting his locations spread across the three States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The Prosecution has filed many damaging documents substantiating the allegations of rape, sexual assault and abortion of her pregnancy with dangerous medicine.

According to sources in the investigation team, Rahul reportedly administered dangerous drugs for terminating the pregnancy which put the girl in a serious condition and it was with much difficulty the doctors and nurses saved her life.

The arguments are continuing at the time of going to Press and it is believed that the decision of the Court would be known late evening or by tomorrow morning.

The Court has asked the prosecution for some more documents and told the lawyers of Rahul that it may take many hours to go through the documents submitted by the prosecution.
