Pune, 29 Dec (HS): Drawing curtains on the
speculations, the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party have joined
hands for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Deputy Chief Minister and
leader of one group Ajit Pawar himself announced the development, following a
discussion on Sunday evening.
Ajit Pawar along with his supporters broke away from
NCP led by its founder Sharad Pawar and claimed to be his group as real NCP
with the majority of legislators on his side.
MLAs Rohit Pawar and MP Amol Kolhe met Ajit Pawar on
Saturday to work out the alliance. Following the discussion, both NCP factions
agreed to contest the civil body elections together in Pune.
The list of candidates for the elections is expected
to be announced on Monday.
