Mumbai, 28 December (H.S.): Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal on Sunday said the country needs the party’s ideology rooted in the Constitution as society is increasingly being divided along the lines of caste, religion, language and sect.
He was speaking at a function held at Tilak Bhavan here to mark the 140th foundation day of the Indian National Congress.
Sapkal accused the ruling BJP of weakening social harmony and fostering divisions in society. He said the country was facing a serious crisis and asserted that only the Congress ideology could safeguard national unity and constitutional values.
