Sitapur/Bijnor,
28 Dec (HS): In Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh the bodies of a married couple
were found hanging from a tree in the same temple where they had married on
December 7. They tied nuptial knot to enter wedlock just 21 days. Police
arrived at the scene, investigated the details, and sent the bodies for
post-mortem. Chief Superintendent of Police (CO) Sadar, Neha Tripathi, also
arrived and inspected the scene.
The
CO stated that the bodies of Khusiram (22) and Mohini (20) from Basti Purva,
under the Laharpur police station, were found hanging from an old tree in the
temple complex of Aniyapur village. No suicide note was recovered from the
scene. Villagers revealed that they were in love and performed marriage in the
same temple on December 7. Today, their bodies were found hanging from a tree
in the same temple. At present, the family members are unwilling to comment on
the matter. However, the discussion in the village, and the question on
everyone's lips, is whether this was a suicide or were two lives forcibly
silenced? Their families were unhappy with the marriage. However, when they
finally got married in the temple, their families blessed them.
The
CO stated that the police investigation revealed that the feet of both bodies
were touching the ground. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, but
the murder angle is currently being investigated. The police have sent the
bodies for post-mortem examination and have begun investigating all angles. The
case will be solved soon.
